Jo Rycroft-Malone is a Professor of Implementation & Health Services Research, Pro-Vice Chancellor for Research & Impact at Bangor University, and Welsh Health & Care Senior Research Leader. She has an international reputation for undertaking research on the strategies, processes and influences of using knowledge in practice. She Co-Directs a globally recognised research programme – Implement@Bangor. Her body of work led to her being named by Thomson Reuters as a highly cited researcher, which puts her in the top 1% of global researchers. Over the last 12 years she has won grant income from highly competitive sources, including the National Institute for Health Research, EU FP7 Programme, Canadian Institutes for Health Research, Australian National Health & Medical Research Council, totalling just over £7 million as a Principal Investigator and health £14 million as a co-investigator.
For the past 5 years Jo has also been the Chair of the National Institute For Care and Clinical Excellence’s (NICE) Implementation Strategy Group. In 2015 she was appointed Director of the National Institute for Health Research’s Health Service & Delivery Research (HS&DR) Programme – which funds high quality research that is designed to impact on the quality and effectiveness of health and care services.
