Trish Bartley is a senior teacher at the Centre for Mindfulness, Research and Practice, and honorary lecturer at Bangor University, UK. She teaches Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Cancer at a regional hospital oncology centre, and has trained and supervised mindfulness teachers from all over the world. She is the author of a new book – Mindfulness: A KIndly Approach to Being with Cancer (2016) and her previous book Mindfulness-Based Cognitive Therapy for Cancer (2012) is used as a handbook for mindfulness-based teachers working with people with cancer. She runs workshops and retreats at home and overseas and maintains close links with South Africa where for 20 years, she has been involved in introducing mindfulness (via very short practices) to people in disadvantaged communities.
